Northend United U11s 2 Chimney Corner U11s 1 Saturday 23rd October 2010
Northend's U11s move into second place in the League after this win at Smithfield in what was a very entertaining game. Northend settled the quickest with James Hayburn passing balls down the left wing for Daniel Bell to run at the Chimney Corner defence.
From one of these passes, Northend scored their first goal when Bell squared the ball to Jamie Stevenson whose shot at goal was blocked. As the ball flew out to James O'Loughlin, from twenty five yards he let rip with a shot that flew straight into the top corner .The score remained 1-0 to Northend at half time.
The second half started well with both teams on the attack. Northend had the better chances with Graham McCartney in United's goals having very little to do.
Northend had some great chances to extend their lead with Daniel Bell forcing a great save from the Chimney Corner keeper and Anthony Shaw sending a shot just over the cross bar.
Northend got their second when Daniel Bell played the perfect pass to Jamie Stevenson just outside the eighteen yard box; he held of his marker and chipped the ball over the Chimney Corner keeper to extend Northend's lead.
Chimney Corner pulled one back and hit the crossbar with only minutes remaining. This was a great performance from the whole Northend team.

Carnmoney Colts U11s 2 Northend United U11s 3 Saturday 16th october 2010
Northend made the long trip to Greenisland on Saturday morning in a confident mood even after their defeat last week to Barn United, as Carnmoney have only won one match this season.
When the game kicked off you it was Carnmoney who were the more confident side, attacking at every opportunity and the Northend defence was being stretched to the limit with Jordon Stock in outstanding form at the heart of the defence dealing with most of their attacks.
Carnmoney went in front when a shot from their striker slipped from the Northend's keeper's hands and the other striker had the simple task of tapping the ball over the line.
Carnmoney went further in front when the ball was played across the Northend goal and the left winger ran in at the back post to put Carnmoney two up.
Northend were coming more into the game with Jordan Adams and James O'Loughlin making great runs up the right wing and Jamie Stevenson could of pulled one back but just as he was about to pull the trigger the defender made a great tackle. United did get one back just before half time and what a goal it was, James Hayburn won the ball on the left wing and played a perfect pass to Daniel Bell who from twenty five yards curled it into the top corner.
Northend's attitude of never giving up really paid of when at times they were being out played in the first ten minutes of the second half , with their left winger causing problems, but the longer the game went on the more stronger they got.
Northend drew level when Daniel Bell made a great run down the left wing and skipped past four defenders and placed the ball into the bottom corner of the net, past the keeper, to level the score at 2-2.
Northend made a few substitutions and it was one of these who got the winner when the ball was played into the back post and Stephen Williams hit it first time into the bottom corner to give Northend all three points in a very hard fought match.

Northend United U11s 5 Barn United U11s 6 Saturday 9th October 2010
Northend raced into a two goal lead through Daniel Bell when a perfectly timed run allowed him to lob the keeper and the other was an own goal from a Barn United defender.
Disaster struck after fifteen minutes when Barn United scored two goals inside a minute. Northend found themselves 4-2 down at half time, with Barn United's long ball tactics causing problems for the Northend defence.
Northend came out in determined fashion in the second half, and Jordan Adams scored for Northend to reduce the score to 4-3.
Northend then fell further behind when Barn scored to make the score 5-3. In a pulsating match, Northend pulled a goal back when from a Northend corner, Jamie Stevenson was on hand to score with a perfectly positioned header.
It was all Northend now and they drew level with Barn United when an inch perfect cross from Daniel Bell allowed Matthew Kirk to head a goal at the near post. To leave the score 5-5
Disaster struck again in the final minute when a Barn United striker was allowed to waltz into the Northend penalty box and beat the keeper with almost the last kick of the game.

Antrim Rovers U11s 1 Northend United U11s 4 Saturday 2nd October 2010
Northend United's U11s got back to winning ways with a hard fought win over their derby rivals at the Antrim Forum. On a very wet pitch, Northend were put under pressure with long balls from Antrim's defence.
Antrim went close on a few occasions but it was Northend who went in front when a ball over the top beat the offside and Jordan Adams was able to volley high into the Antrim net.
Antrim came straight at United but Anthony Shaw at the heart of the defence was in outstanding form and was able to deal with their long balls over the top.
Northend went further in front when Matthew Kirk was fouled just outside Antrim's eighteen yard box. Up stepped Northend's captain Aaron Campbell to strike a unstoppable shot in off the crossbar into the net to put United two goals up.
Antrim responded well when they pulled one back, but Northend restored their two goal advantage when they were awarded a penalty when an Antrim player handled the ball on the line.
Aaron Campbell stepped up to score his second goal when he gave the keeper no chance when he drilled the ball high into the net.
Northend finished the game of when Kuba Babuszewski dribbled past two Antrim players and coolly place the ball into the bottom corner. This was a good result after their bad defeat last week.

Northend United U11s 0 Whitehead Eagles U11s 1 Saturday 25th September 2010
This game played at Wakehurst went to the wire with Whitehead scoring with the last kick of the ball to deny Northend a hard fought point.
The game started well for United with Jordan Adams and Matthew Erwin attacking down the wings and Jamie Stevenson driving runs through the middle of the park, but Whitehead's defence cut out any threat from Bell and Hartnett up front.
The Northend central defence of Jordan Stock and Aaron Campbell had to be on their toes with the counter attacks of Whitehead's midfield. Northend could not find their rhythm and were finding it hard to hold on the ball, but still had chances to go in front only for the final pass into the box going a stray. The score stayed level at half time.
Northend made a few changes early into the second half but they still could not get into their stride, and Whitehead were still causing problems because of their wayward passing.
Northend could of went in front when Daniel Bell made a great run into the box and shot at goal only to see the keeper pull of a great save.
Whitehead won the game when their striker was able to run unchallenged into the box and place the ball high into the Northend net.

Newington Youth U11s 1 Northend United U11s 4 Saturday 18th September 2010
This was a cracker of a game with both teams playing attacking football from the first whistle, and after the first few minutes Jamie Stevenson broke from midfield with the ball out running three players, only to be pulled down at the edge of the box. From the resulting free-kick Daniel Bell was just wide of the goal.
Ruairi Lennon, James Hayburn, James O'Loughlin and Captain Aaron Campbell were dealing well with anything that Newington could throw at them. Northend went in front when Daniel Bell ran onto a pass from Jordan Adams and out ran his marker to shoot at the Newington goal. However the keeper pulled of a great save but he couldn't hold it and Daniel Bell blasted the rebound into the net.
The game went from one end to the other but there was to be no more goals in the first half.
The second half started just like the first with both teams attacking each other. Northend were having more of the possession and should have added to their tally but missed some great chances, and when Newington draw level you thought it was going to be one of those days.
Credit to the young Northend team, their response was quick, when Daniel Bell won a corner, and Jordan Adams unmarked in the box was able to score his first goal for the club when he tapped in at the back post, to make the score 2-1 to Northend.
Northend went further in front when Jamie Stevenson skipped past the Newington defence and rounded the keeper to put United 3-1 up.
Northend wrapped the game up when Jamie Wray placed the ball under the advancing keeper. Northend went top of the league after this win and are still unbeaten after three games.

Northend United U11s 3 Greenisland BB U11s 1 Saturday 11th September 2010
Northend U11s found it hard to settle in this match against Greenisland BB, which was played under floodlights at the Ballymena Showgrounds on Friday night.
It took an unstoppable shot in the tenth minute by Daniel Bell to open the score, after good work by Jamie Stevenson allowed Bell time to control and volley high into the net.
Northend went further ahead when they were awarded a penalty after one of their players was tripped in the box. Ruairi Lennon stepped up and cooly placed into the top corner. Northend went looking for more goals, but their final pass into the box was blocked by a now well organized Greenisland defence which left Northend going in 2-0 up at half time.
Greenisland came more into the game in the second half with their midfield winning more of the ball. Northend's defence cut out any attacks that got near their eighteen yard line and quickly countered attacked down their flanks with man of the match James O'Loughlin delivering great balls into the front players.
Greenisland got a life line when they were awarded a penalty after a great tackle by Jamie Stevenson was judged to be a foul. The Greenisland player gave Ruairi Campbell no chance, in the Northend net, to narrow the score to 2-1.
This spurred Northend into attack but there was always the chance of a counter attack by Greenisland. Daniel Bell put the game beyond Greenisland's reach when he finished of a cross at the back post for Northend's third and his second to give Northend all three points.

Cavehill Colts U11s 2 Northend United U11s 2 Saturday 4th September 2010
A typical opening game of the season, played at Ballysillan, with many passes going wayward for both teams. Cavehill Colts opened the scoring after ten minutes after the Cavehill winger skipped past three Northend players and put the ball into the top corner of the net.
Northend had plenty of chances to level the score but final touch let them down inside the box. Cavehill went further in front when from a corner, their striker volleyed home unchallenged.
Northend continued to have a lot of the ball down the left wing and James Hayburn and Stephen Williams were linking up well and Hayburn pulled Northend back into the game when he took a corner, which was only partially cleared as far as him, and he volleyed the ball into the top corner of the net, to make the score 2-1.
Northend pulled level when David Bell ran onto a long ball, then pulled the ball back for Kuba Babuszewski to blast the ball home, leaving the score 2-2 at half time.
The second half saw Northend go on the attack from the start and they missed numerous chances when in good positions. The Northend defence was marshaled by Man of The Match Aaron Campbell and Jordan Stock, who stopped anything coming their way, leaving Ruairi Campbell in the Northend net with a quiet second half.
Northend could have won the game when Jamie Stevenson ran through on goal only for the keeper to make a good save. This was a good performance from Northend's new U11 team with Matthew Irwin, James Hayburn and Stephen Williams in great form.
